New Halloween Costumes 2014: No Need to Be Traditional and Boring

It’s already October and no doubt, Halloween is fast approaching. So, it’ll be perfect to start your preparation for Halloween.

It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to dress up as a pop culture character, your favorite fictional character, or come up with new Halloween costumes 2014. Sky is the limit. What’s important is to be creative and have fun!

To get your gears turning, here are some ideas for new Halloween costumes 2014

Ice Bucket Challenge

If you’re a regular user of social networking sites, you’re probably aware of the ice bucket challenge. This kind of look wouldn’t be too hard to pull off, since a lot of stores are selling costumes that are based on the internet trend.

Though, if you’d rather make your very own costume, all you need to do is come up with an ALS T-shirt and just carry around a bucket of ice with you. Likewise, you could also be a little more creative. You could give an illusion that some ice cubes are falling on your head by using a headpiece. All you need are fake ice cubes, a headband, and a fish wire to connect the two.

Guardians of the Galaxy

We all know that this became a box office hit. Which only implies that most people are familiar with the characters of this movie. You could be Groot, Gamora, or Peter. Though, if you want to be unique, you could always make your own Drax, Ronan, or Rocket costume. A little face paint and some sculpting paint would make your costume truly one of a kind.

Game of Thrones Characters

If you love this popular series, there’s nothing wrong to show that to other people! Also, most Halloween stores are already aware that this is a very popular show and chances are, you’ll easily find a ready-made costume of your favorite character.

A friendly advice though. To make yourself stand out, you could try to go as a character that already bit the bullet on the show and try to portray their death scene look. This would be creepy, but it’ll have a pop culture reference at the same time.

Frozen-Themed Costumes

This is specifically intended for the little girls who love Elsa. Though, even adults could try this costume. In fact, you could be Elsa, Anna, or even Olaf. There’s a good chance that you’ll find several Frozen costumes online, or even in stores. Likewise, you could also try making your own costume instead.

Mrs. Doubtfire (in Honor of the Late Robin Williams)

We all know that it’s very devastating to lose such awesome guy, like Robin Williams and there’s no better way to pay tribute to this great man by dressing up as one of his famous characters, Mrs. Doubtfire. All you need is a wig, eye glasses, and a nanny dress. A classic character, that would definitely be ‘in’ as one of the new Halloween costumes 2014.

iPhone 6

For those techies out there, maybe you’d love to dress up as an “iPhone 6.” There are a lot of ways to make this costume. You can use a cardboard box, print out some icons, and you’re good to go. However, if you don’t have much time to do this, you can always have it printed on your shirt instead.

Overall, you don’t need to stick with the conventional costumes for Halloween. It’s the time of year where you can dress up however you like and be able to show what you love, while being unique at the same time.
